Not all suffering is virtuous. Some of it is just an injury you haven't named yet. The skill isn't pushing through everything — it's knowing which signal is effort and which is damage.

Effort is broad and dull and moves with you. Damage is sharp, specific, and gets worse the longer you argue with it. One you lean into. The other you listen to.

Suffering well means you've earned the right to push because you also know when to stop. Recovery isn't the opposite of the work. It's the part that lets you keep choosing the work tomorrow.

Track it. Not to obsess, but to know your own baselines well enough that when something's off, you notice before it costs you a season.

Discomfort is information. Learn to read it before you decide to ignore it.
